BASELIGHT Area Lighting System For The Rail Industry

After a lengthy process, the Baselight 600MX Rail has become the first and only portable lighting system with Network Rail approval.

In addition to the all the features on the original version of the 600MX, there have been reflective graphics added to the legs of the unit to aid with visibility before and after the light has been turned on. Additionally, the handle position has changed, a lifting eye has been added and the red flashing lights on the original version have changed to white. All of these alterations contributed to Network Rail approval for the product, making the 600MX more suited to safety in rail-specific environments.

One of these is specific to the OLE version of the 600MX rail, with the height being fixed at 2m to ensure safe distance between the top of the unit and overhead lines, therefore significantly reducing the risk of ARC flash. Often, workers can be susceptible to ARC flash injuries with temperatures from this type of electrical explosion sometimes reaching up to four times the temperature of the surface of the sun.
